Culturally Diversifying the Outdoors is designed to bring together organizations across the private, non profit and government sectors in the outdoor and nature industries to initiate a conversation around a strategy to make our green spaces more diverse and inclusive of the Hispanic community. At the same time, we aim to better understand and address the barriers that prevent the Hispanic community from engaging with nature and the health implications of limited access to nature.
This event will provide a forum to discuss and identify the obstacles they face while also presenting effective strategies to enhance communication with the Latino community, ways to overcome these barriers and provide cross-cultural understanding within these sectors.
We will further the goals of both Vive Northwest and those participating by continuing the dialogue of diversity and inclusion in the outdoor spaces of the Pacific Northwest.
