Jorge Guzman

Serving as the Executive Director and Founder of Vive | NW, Jorge F. Guzman has over 15 years of experience working in the private, non-profit and public sectors. Outside of Vive | NW, Jorge also serves as an Economic Development Consultant for the City of Gresham in the State of Oregon. Jorge is also the co-founder and Executive Director of Hispanicpros.com and managing partner at Versiapp.com  

Jorge earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing | Business Administration and a certificate in Food and Retail management from Portland State University. He also holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Texas in San Antonio, TX. Jorge is multi-lingual, multi-cultural, and an avid traveler, having spent time trekking through Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Jorge enjoys hiking, surfing, traveling and spending time with family and friends

Laura Sullivan

Laura serves as the Development Director for Vive | NW and has been involved with the organization since 2015. After taking years of Spanish classes in elementary and high school, Laura had her first experience with Latino culture as an exchange student in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico where she lived and studied as a high school student for one year. At the University of Michigan she had the opportunity to study abroad in Salvador, Bahia Brazil for a semester before finishing her degrees in International Studies and Romance Languages and Literatures. From there Laura spent some time in southern Brazil teaching English before moving to Buenos Aires, Argentina where she continued teaching and played professional soccer for two years. 

Laura moved out to Portland in January, 2015 where she fell in love with the awesome landscapes of the Pacific North West and became involved with this initiative.

Anibal Rocheta

Serving as Led Outdoor Instructor of Vive | NW,  Aníbal Rocheta originally from Venezuela is a  professional adventure guide videographer and photographer. His passion lays around recording through film and photography each one of his adventures in the outdoors.


Aníbal led mountain expeditions in Venezuela, and Peru and for many years lead tourism initiatives in Venezuela through TV programs, training and advising companies in the area of cotourism and adventure. For over 15 years Anibal was also a mountain guide in the Sierra de San Luis, where he began his love and passion for nature. Anibal completed training courses in Spain and the USA and he obtained a double degree as a Tourism Services Technician, and Bachelor in Tourism: Tourism Promotion and Marketing. His work, training and expertise were fundamental for  the development of adventure tourism in Venezuela.


Anibal currently lives in Portland, Oregon. Developing a 4k adventure project called "LOCO POR LA AVENTURA". On his free time he enjoys Climbing mountains and spending time outdoors.

 

María Teresa Lopes

Serving as Online Journalist of Vive | NW, María Teresa Lopes, is Venezuelan Journalist graduated from the University of Zulia, specialist in Audiovisual Journalism. With 7 years of experience, she has worked as director, general producer and screenwriter of the television program of Tourism and adventure called Expedition 20:09. She is co-founder of the audiovisual production company, CUIDADO Producciones, responsible for the filming, editing, production and animation of social events and tourism.

Its perkiness and spontaneity at the moment of animating and work in camera, have led it to lead large social, sporting and tourist events such as Vuelta a la Península 105 kms, Sambil Model 2012-2013, Nationalist Dance Festival, and Talent with children, among others.

María Teresa is bilingual, cheerful and outgoing. Her passion for the media has allowed her to study in Venezuela, Spain and the United States. She loves to dance, take photos, ride bikes, run and travel around the world with new cultures.

Currently she lives in Portland, Oregon and she is developing a new adventure and ecotourism production called "Loco por la Aventura". Also she works as a volunteer in Metro East Community Media.
